I'll be using this blog to document my journey to Ironman Wisconsin which will take place 9/11/11. I'll address nutrition, training, and general issues from my perspective as a beginner triathlete. I will also use this site to document the trials and tribulations I will face in these next nine months as I prepare to become an Ironman.

My dad and I ran our first race of the season on February 12. The race was called Cupids Chase, money raised went to support people with disabilities.  I ran my fastest 5k ever which was a great way to start the season, below is a recap of the race.

Current Rants and Raves

I’ve had a slightly stressful two weeks (this, perhaps, is an understatement). Laying the foundation

You can’t build a house without a good foundation. Similarly, to properly train for an Ironman you need a strong base of athleticism and skill. Skill is the key word here and since the gracefulness of my swim stroke has been compared to that of a drowning deer, I’ve decided to focus a good portion of my base training on improving my swimming abilities.
